Thankful Thursday [on the Farmer, beds, dessert]

Happy Thursday everyone! I love Thursdays because it means tomorrow is the last day of work for the week.  We got a little bit of a snowstorm this evening.  We were originally forecasted to get between 6 and 9 inches, but I am hoping most of that doesn’t stick because I am planning on driving to Iowa tomorrow after work.  So without further ado I give you this week’s Thankful Things.

I’m thankful for the Farmer.  It’s his 24th birthday today, or rather the 3rd anniversary of his 21st birthday as he likes to call it.  In his words, “Wow, I’m old.”  Not sure how 24 actually equates to being old.  Part of the reason I’m going back to Cascade this weekend is to do a little celebrating with him.  That will probably will include some of this.

I’m thankful for these bars I made on Monday.

They are peanut butter bars and they are delicious.  I even health-ified them a bit from the original recipe.  And I didn’t tell my coworkers!  I’m so sneaky.  These were my special Fat Tuesday treat before I went cold turkey on sugar for the Lenten season.  And they were a mighty good treat.  I can’t wait till I eat a big old piece of something sugary on Easter.  p.s. I will share this recipe with you soon.  Like Saturday, yeah Saturday.

I’m thankful for chapstick.  My lips are so, so chapped and I reapply my Carmex approximately 1.243 million times each day.  I also consume copious amounts of water but nothing seems to be helping.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to heal my severely chapped lips?

I’m thankful for snuggly beds.  My bed is so comfy and cozy that I do not want to get out of it in the morning, but I eventually force myself out.  Is it me or are beds just more comfortable in the winter?

I’m thankful for my friend Laura.  We finally got a chance to catch up last night and we ended up talking on the phone for an hour and a half.  Oops.  Kind of ruined my plans to get other things done around my apartment last night, but it was definitely worth it.

Peace out!
